So here I am, blogging from a Starbucks down the road from my house, listening to coffee house music and sipping on an iced green tea while studying my brain away (well, except for this quick blog break that I took).

I don’t think I’ve been to Starbucks this often even when I used to work right next door to one. I activated my Starbucks card last October and only within the last 3 months did I reach my 15 stars, and now I’m determined to hit 30 drinks by October just so that I can get a Gold card. Who have I become?

I think it’s so much more peaceful to study away from home. I also find that caffeine and studying go hand in hand. Don’t judge me, because after last semester and putting my efforts in to my school work, I managed to get straight A’s, didn’t lose any sleep—okay, maybe a little—and kept a decent social life.

This summer I’ve enrolled myself in 4 classes and am determined to grab straight A’s again until I graduate in the Spring of 2013. Yes, the time will finally be here when I can finally say that I’m no longer a college student…unless I decide to get another degree, perhaps in Marketing?

I’m not at all bitter that tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, and I’m single–the old Jen would curse this day by wearing black, rolling my eyes at all the couples, and call it “Single Awareness Day” thanks to my dear friend Bobby O. The past two years, I wasn’t single, and it really wasn’t that much more awesome than any regular day, so I figure, I was really wasting my time being bitter all those past years.

So Valentine’s day 2012, I am definitely not bitter. In fact, I’m sweet! :) Or…I made sweets. My inner housewife has been coming out lately (though I lack the time) and I’ve been dying to make little cutesy desserts, finger sandwiches and all things dainty and girly.

The easiest, quickest treat you can make: Oreo and cream cheese truffles.  The only thing I don’t like about these is that they should be stored in the fridge. They’re made with Oreo cookies and cream cheese (I made these last year for Valentines day after seeing ahanbarbie making them on her YouTube channel) so it shouldn’t be out for too long. I wish they could so I could show them off because they’re so cute!! (JC has an awesome step-by-step guide to making these–complete with yummy pictures that’ll make you drool! Check it out)

I also made my easy microwave mochi stuffed with peanut butter, but those were boring to take pictures of, so I left them out.

I hope everyone has a sweet Valentine’s Day!!

This update comes because I don’t have much to blog about.

I can’t blog about my Maid-of-honor duties yet for the simple fact that…I haven’t begun my Maid-of-honor duties yet! I’m such a slacker and decided to only throw a bachelorette party and left the bridal shower to the bride’s mom. On top of that, I still haven’t bought my shoes for the wedding, or gotten my dress altered–hemmed, because, well, I don’t have shoes to wear with it. I haven’t written my MOH speech, which by the way, I am totally paranoid about giving (that feeling will go away with 3-10 glasses of cheap champagne), wait–I take that back, I wrote the speech, I just misplaced it, because like the brainiac that I am, I didn’t save it, just printed it out.

Well, would you look at that…I did have something to blog about. :) Since I’m on a roll…

I’m still “training” for the couple of races that I entered, but not making much progress, since I took a week off from doing anything physically active. I have less than a month for the first race, and two months until the second race.

So this post was really supposed to only be about my iPhone turning back in to a little prissy device again after months of it being “naked” without anything but screen protectors on it, but since this turned in to rambling, and that I didn’t think I had anything to blog, I’m going to keep this entry (as random as it is). However, I will leave you with the main reason why I hit “Add New Post” and show you my ultra-hip-cool-girly-girl iPhone case that I ordered from Hong Kong, that apparently, I could have bought at the mall in one of those kiosks and not paid shipping for.

It’s still cute though, riiiiiight?

This week has been super crazy, but I’ve been trying really hard to stay sane and walk around with a smile on my face. So far it’s working, I think I’m fooling most people (including myself) that everything is smooth sailing–which it pretty much is…wow, I really am good at fooling myself. I find that keeping a positive attitude helps out a lot, and opens your mind up so things flow easier. Yeah, anyway…

School started this past Monday. I didn’t go to work that day and instead of having a relaxing day off, I spent it plopped in front of my computer reading loads and loads of information from my three (2 main) classes. I’m talking pages and pages of syllabus (syllabi?) reading, tons of emails back and forth between group members, myself and the instructor (who invented CCs) and how-to information. Three classes doesn’t sound like a lot, and it really isn’t, but my instructor for two of my classes is out of his mind and doesn’t know the meaning of organization. *Sigh*

I began fasting on Wednesday evening, and when things get stressful, I like to hit the weights or run, but I haven’t really done either because I don’t want to pass out in the hot sun with an empty stomach (no matter how much water I’ve drank), or black out lifting heavy. I’m more concerned that it’s embarrassing to black out, than actually blacking out.

So nothing has really been “new” since the year began, disappointing, I know. Oh, but in random news, I’ve been told by yet one more person that I remind them of Penny from the Big Bang Theory. That brings the total up to six. Something about facial expressions and reactions to things? So, for most of you that read my blog and don’t know me in person, if you watch the Big Bang Theory, imagine talking to Penny and there you have it. Hope that doesn’t scare or bother any of you, and if so, don’t imagine it, because I still want you to like me. :)

huh? wait, what?!

Do you like my header?

If you remember my old header, I used Type Mask over my WordPress themed header. Yeeaaaahhh. =P

Most bloggers are Photoshop savvy. Nope, not me. This is my first attempt–sad, I know–at creating something on Photoshop. I was creating it while reading a tutorial I found online. I guess that’s the only way to really teach yourself.

My friend installed Photoshop on my computer in hopes to teach me how to edit photos for him and his photographer buddies and a way for me to make some extra cash. He has yet to teach me his skills, so I took it upon myself to start Googling tutorials and tips on how to edit blemishes on photos. The real thing I want to learn is how to Photoshop bodies to make them appear fit. This is something he wanted to teach me for his model-clients.

Since I was bored this morning I decided to tinker around and made this simple header which, I’m sure to the Photoshop-savvy is a piece of cake, but for me, it’s an accomplishment! :D

Any tips or websites with awesome tutorials are welcomed. <3

So while I was working out at the gym this morning, the lights shut off. Every single one of them. I paused, looked around, only to see that no one else stopped what they were doing. I took my earbuds out of my ears only to hear the music still playing, and seen that the lights in the locker rooms were still on. I guess the power didn’t go out because the treadmill and ellipticals were working because no one stopped. I thought it was the funniest thing. It’s like no one noticed or acted the like there were no lights on in the gym.

Is that dedication or what?

So I popped my buds back in my ears and continued my leg adductors. :)

I spent some quality Mom and Daughter time today. We went to Ala Moana for lunch and some shopping. All in all, it was a great, awesome, terrific day! I bought 2 belts and a white cardigan from Nordstrom, and Mom bought me a new work shirt from Express. We got full on tomato and basil soup and an avocado club Panini sandwich from the cafe. Besides all of the wonderfulness that was today, a couple of things managed to bother me enough to tweet and shamelessly take pictures and post them on Twitter.

Idiots who don’t know how to park. Am I the only one who thinks that karma is a bitch and if I was to park my car in such a way, I’d come back to a car that is either keyed or hit by some desperate driver looking for a close stall? I mean, I watched the Lexus SUV woman (YES! I said woman…to add, she was also Asian, but let’s not go there with the stereotyping) park, and she didn’t even try to get in the lines.

Culprit #1-

Like c’mon, seriously?!

Culprit #2-

Is it ironic that both of these cars are Lexus’!?!? And they say BMW drivers are pricks. I think we need to shift that generalization off of us. I mean sheesh, it doesn’t even look like they tried.

Dumping cigarette butts out your car window. And not even subtly dropping it out of your car, but literally throwing it in to the next lane. I used to smoke a cigg here and there back in the day and I knew that if you smoked in the car, the smell of smoke would often linger in the car, it would smell on your clothes, on your fingers and it would linger on your breath. The majority of your shit smells of smoke, so why can’t you just dump out the ashes of your cigarette, and throw the butt/filter a little trash bag in your car?

But I don’t have a trash bag/can in my car.

Well, if you smoke, you really should. You don’t want to dirty and litter in your car, what makes you think it’s okay to dirty and litter on the streets.

**After writing this post, I thought I should make a “pet peeves” category here on my blog, then I realized I better not. I can’t even remember how many pet peeve entries I have typed (I just know it was many) and it may not look good to have my category cloud  have  “Pet Peeves” as the largest category.

I haven’t done an entry like this in a while, partially because I’ve been slacking in the new blog entry department lately, anyway. Here’s we go…

10) My Christmas list is the shortest this year, yet, the most expensive than the past years.

9) I’m addicted to shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Married to Rock and Kendra.

8) I used to have my tongue and belly button pierced.

7) I’ve been Facebook-less for nearly five months now–and I’m thinking about making one again because I miss posting pictures.

6) I get my haircut at a Korean salon because they’re the only ones who seem to get my cut exactly how I love it.

5) Elf is my favorite Christmas movie.

4) I am a Christian and proud of it!

3) Starting a part-time job and personal finance blog has helped me save money and get closer to becoming debt-free.

2) I went to walk through the Honolulu City Lights and Honolulu Hale for the first time this Christmas. (See photo)

1) By saving and selling my old stuff, I saved up over $1,000 in less than two months.

  • Don’t you hate it when a bird craps on the windshield of your car and it’s out of the windshield wiper range? I feel so helpless when that happens.
  • It’s a huge disappointment when I open a bag of Cheetos and they’re all light orange, as if someone already licked the cheese dust off of it already.
  • I love Oreo cookies, but I discriminate against the Mini Oreo Cookies because the cream to cookie ratio is completely off.
  • If you absolutely want it to rain, wash your car.
  • I laugh roll my eyes when I see that a co-worker sent out a non-crucial email to the entire office on the weekend or after hours.
  • I still need to invest in the large over-size deejay headphones to wear at work so people know that I’m tuning them out. These little earbuds aren’t working to my advantage.
  • I don’t know why, but when I skip my lunch break at work, the day seems to move right along. But if I take a lunch, or even a long lunch, the afternoon drags on.
  • When people say that they’re “on a diet”, I cringe. Diets don’t last. Only lifestyle changes.

Just needed to get a few things off my chest. I have a shit ton more rants on driving, other cars, traffic, etc., but I’ll save that for another post.

During my entire 4-day weekend, I haven’t done much of anything. Just the normal; Eat, live and breathe turkey (since Thanksgiving on Thursday), workout and burn the calories from the feast, sleep, watch America’s Next Top Model marathons (for 6 hours until my girl April got the boot), flip through 5 different stations so that I can watch ANTM, 300, The Family Stone, Aladdin and Elf all at one time (tell me I’m not a multi-tasker!) and did I mention eat turkey for breakfast, lunch and dinner?!

Now it’s Sunday and suddenly, all the necessary things I need to do are appearing in my mind. Laundry, bank errands, grocery shopping, online quiz, download music and bake cupcakes for the bossman’s birthday tomorrow. So much for a lazy Sunday–which is fine, I had quite the lazy Thursday, Friday and Saturday. (I really can’t be out of work for this long, I’m going crazy)

While I was doing my music downloads and checking my online bank statements, I managed to dig up these pictures I took last month and never got to posting. I need to get my flickr updated, or perhaps make a new one altogether.

I changed the theme of my blog just so that the text area would fit this image. Hopefully this theme will stay, I like it, it’s cute.

This post is totally random, forgive me, I’ve been out of work for 4 days and my brain feels like it doesn’t know how to function properly.
