I had to write about the weekend that I had because it was just so wonderful.

It was the first weekend that I finished my homework early Saturday morning, so I had all of Saturday and Sunday to fully enjoy.

It’s a long one….

30 day blog challenge has been too challenging. Therefore, I’m doing my own blog challenge: update this blog on a regular basis.

Life is starting to get bombarded with much to do lately. It’s overwhelming at times, but hey, that’s when life really starts to get interesting, right?

In other news, I’ve been frequently updating my personal finance blog because I can find I have more to write about there. Come visit me:

(30-Day Blog Challenge: A photograph of the town you live in)

This is my home…Kailua. This is the view from my backyard. I live on a bit of a hillside, so we have a bit of a view. I’ve lived in Enchanted Lakes of Kailua for my entire life. I love it here, though sometimes I wish that I had a place in the middle of the city so I can be close to everything.

So that’s Enchanted Lake. Pretty? Sure it’s pretty from a distance, but that lake is so nasty and has periods when the stench is so bad, although I can never smell it from my house. I could always smell it when I was in elementary school since it was right across the street from it.

Anyway, so that’s my home. In Kailua, Hawaii. Now all the rumors of grass shacks can come to a halt.

Taking a break from the 30-day blog challenge–not like I’ve been keeping up with it anyway…

I’ve been working on a new blog that focuses on personal finance. I am now a “PF blogger.” I really wanted to get my finance in order. As I’m getting older, I’m realizing that I need to start saving up for big things in my life, my own house, wedding, travel. Honestly, my spending behavior is horrible. I splurge on all sorts of things, useless things, things I’ll use once or twice. It’s gone too far, and I finally told myself that I need to stop.

So I started this blog: http://mybuckstopshere.com or http://mybuckstopshere.wordpress.com (can someone help me with hosting?)

Now I can track and record my spending, budgets, goals and tips. Since I have it documented, I can look back and see what works for me (and what doesn’t), also, putting it out there for the public, will help me to accomplish my goals and stick to it.

(30 Day Blog Challenge: What’s in your makeup bag?)

This is my desk at work where I sometimes put my make up if I’m running late (as was the case on this day). So I just dumped out the things that I use and began applying with the horrible lighting and teeny mirror on my wall. Let me just start by saying I was never this in to makeup until I started blogging and reading other people’s blogs and watching tutorial videos on YouTube. I went to Target one day with my coworker and was explaining how this certain video, the Guru used this certain drug store item so I wanted to look at it. His (of course only a GUY would say something like that) response? “Oh, you got suckered in to that stuff too?” HAH!

Anyway, here’s the things in my makeup bag:

  • MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation
  • Physicians Formula Bronzer
  • Urban Decay Blush
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • MAC Eye Shadow (Beautymarked and Satin Taupe)
  • MAC Fluidline Eye Liner
  • Rimmel Eye Brow Pencil
  • Maybelline Falsies Mascara
  • Revlon Lip Gloss
  • …and a bunch of brushes and applicators to apply them all with.

(30 Day Blog Challenge: Photo of your favorite place to eat)

If you know me then you’ll know that I don’t have just one favorite food (anymore). I’m loving all sorts of stuff, sushi, dim sum, Hawaiian food, pizza, pasta, burgers, fried chicken, juicy rib eyes. *Drools* Lately though, I’ve been satisfying my constant craving for dim sum and I was stoked to learn that there’s a restaurant ten minutes away from my house that serves awesome, delicious dim sum in a clean fine Asian Chinese restaurant! :D Before we would have to drive all the way in to town to Chinatown to get yummy dim sum. Now that it’s so close, it’s pretty dangerous and very convenient, so I’d gone there four times in the last week.

Thanks Hawaiieats.com, I used the photo because I didn’t have one.

Anyway, this place is so great. The dim sum is yummy and so is the regular stuff off the menu. Boyfriend even ordered their fresh fish; he ordered the deep fried moi with black bean sauce and it was so tasty. You can even buy fresh fish from the market and bring it there and they’ll prepare it for you for $5/lb. We brought an Uhu (Parrot fish) and had them prepare it with soy ginger and brought it home. Excellent!

Now that I’d made myself hungry, yet again for this place, I better quit talking about it before I head there for a 5th time, but if you’re ever on the Windward side of Oahu, this is the place to go!

(30 Day Blog Challenge: Photo of the item you last purchased)

Okay, so I had to keep changing the subject of this entry because I’d purchase something, take a photo of it (like my Coke Zero on Friday, for instance) and then forget to write the entry (so my last item purchased kept changing as I kept putting it off). Because of that, I didn’t take an actual photo of my last purchased item, but since I remembered to blog, I just took it from the Nordstrom website.

This here is the dress I picked to wear for my birthday party this coming Friday. They only had one size left in this bright blue color, and it was a size too big, :( but I tried it on anyway and figured I could take it in a bit by adding a belt. *Shrug* I really wanted this color. There was army green, tan and purple, but I wanted a bright color, because, well I want to stand out on my quarter century birthday. :)

I am not sure what is in store for me, but I have a wonderful boyfriend and best friend who are both planning the festivities. It’s so funny because I keep tricking them in to telling me and I actually got some out of them (they’re so easy!).

(30-Day Blog Challenge: A song to match your mood)

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEU8dlrYR5c&fs=1&hl=en_US]

I get this feeling every now and then, but to feel inspired is always a good thing. It means wanting to make a change and making a change for the better, whether it be for yourself, a situation, or others. I love feeling ambitious, and wanting to be an over achiever in everything.

(30-Day Blog Challenge: Your dream wedding)

I don’t need a whole lot of bells and whistles for my wedding–even for a dream wedding, I can’t even think of all the details that I’d want in an extravagant ceremony. Just an extravagant party afterward!

My “dream wedding” (all of which can be made reality) would include the following:
1. A groom (duh)
2. Beautiful wedding gown
3. Secluded beach
4. Family + close friends
5. A huge reception, and
6. A damn good red velvet cake that I can shove in my partner’s face :)

(30-Day Blog Challenge: A photo of an animal that you’d love to keep as a pet)

HAHA! Yes, I want an ASS. A miniature donkey. They’re so cute!!!

I remember traveling to the Big Island of Hawaii and they have Donkey Crossing signs on the highways. It’s the funniest thing.

I can imagine all the lame play on words I’d hear if I owned one…

Hey Jen, where’s your ba-donkey?”

“Have you SEEN Jenna’s ass yet?”
“Ew, no.”
“It’s soooo cute and furry!”
“Whaaaat?”

“Can I pet your ass?”

HEE-HAW!
